History

The Consortium for the Protection of P.D.O. Table Olives La Bella della Daunia – Bella di Cerignola variety, was constituted on October 3, 2002 pursuant to article 2602 of the Civil Code and Law no. 526 dated December 1999 as amended and implemented. The Consortium obtained recognition from the Ministry of Agricultural and Forestry Affairs by Decree dated 09.06.2004.

The objectives of the statute are the protection and promotion of the Bella di Cerignola table olive variety and its protected designation of origin, La Bella della Daunia, in Italy and abroad.

The Consortium handles surveillance and control activities, marketing, support and scientific research. It protects and valorizes the typical qualities and special features of the product and guarantees constant improvement in the quality of consumer protection.
